4th Orleans Scouting Group |
Patrick outlined current operations with the 4th Orleans
Scout Group. There are presently 3 Beaver packs, 2 Cub packs, and 1 Scout
pack. 4th Orleans is also presently serving South of Fallingbrook and Avalon.
Registrations are down 17%, and fees are up 33% from $105 to $140. Insurance
costs are up which is why the fees have risen. The apple fundraising drive
pulled in $1700, which is down from last year. Some activities that are
involved with include hikes, cleaning the community and tree planting. Don made a motion to support the Scouting group for $500 as we have
done in previous years. George seconded the motion and it was carried. |

Newsletter |
Don
has been using Runge printing to print the newsletter. Runge would now like
to move into electronic format instead of the paste-up plate printing. Don is
working towards providing an electronic version however this newsletter will
be done on the old format Paul suggested that Fred Sherwin might be able to
provide some help with the electronic version on a sub contract basis. |

Rinks |
Paul indicated the rink proposal grants are in. Recruiting for ice
attendants will start soon. There is still a need for signage to post rules and special events.
Signage with pre-booking information would prevent disappointment. Paul is
booking 2 hockey teams per week plus one special event. If groups would like
to book ice time, the email address is: rinks@fallingbrook.com
. Paul will be charging groups to use ice this year. Paul is looking for
mature students 17 years of age and over. |
